USGP day 2

Johnson Wins

day 2 was amazing. i was warming up with the sun out. behind me i heard a voice say "wow its amazing how much faster it is today". i agreed. it was getting faster every minute. the lines were better, the corners were smoother and the course was just flowing. mark mcCormack went rolling around me. i was really happy for J Powers this weekend. he really deserves some fame. hard work with a lot of sickness during the summer. we'll hope to see him battle at nats.

hot news on the day - mr. jeff wienert (aka lil pony) ripped a totally kick ass win in the masters race to gain the opening day USGP series jersey. jeff that was a great ride.

jeff shining in the moment of high energy. USGP officials had better watch out for michigan cyclo-cross talent. we had several michiganders riding well today.

ron was graced with the best number in the field. and rode an awesome race to boot.

Sven took a decent 7th today in his debut return at the superprestige.

apparently we had a huge pile up early on keeping the world champ from finish near the front.

i just found out that 6 time U23 champ jesse anthony won today at gloucester round 2. that is really impressive. i also heard that the 2 ohio races were really cool and that my friends all rode well. i wish i could have made it. i hope pics and reports.are posted soon.

well actually 2 words.....fucking hot!

i think i was losing weight just standing around i was sweating so much. riders just evaporated.

the black ace, rev wiz and lil pony had a nice group at the front.


the sweed rode well again to a 4th place. frenchman tanguy kept me off the podium again. nice ride.


despite the heat, i felt good and rode well on the day. thanks to my good friend ron for riding with me when it got hard. on the last lap we looked around and saw nothing but a beautiful day around us. we sat up a little.

afterwards we were invited to a great summer outside BBQ to our friend john sammuts house. wow that was just great after the hard day. thanks john.

so cool, the UCI world cup gets a kick ass sponsor. safety jogger boots. let me tell you from a first hand experience, if i ever attend another belgian cyclo-cross race (i'm likely too) i'll certainly be sporting a pair of these babys.
