another one done

done. i've completed another iceman. chalk another up on the board. having finished my 11th iceman i'm ready to get my head back in the game of cross. it was nice to see a lot of the cross guys up here. wizz had a great race and won his class. the big DC had a great race, came in some where in the top 3 and ron finished 3rd in single speed overall! the finish of this race is simply amazing. hundres of people and the best feed tent i've ever been too. thanks ice.

people everyewhere. you lose people in the mob pretty quick. i guess i should mention that the single speed class started with over a 100 riders. around 95 finished. i was like 40 something. i think 41st. big motor dan clark was like 19th. ron is a stud. until next year.

obviously the big story of the day is the overall race. the course conditions were really great. fast and hard packed. too bad i couldn't take advantage of it. we didn't stay for the finish of the elite race but had heard back at the grand traverse resort that a rider in a bells jersey had a huge gap on a few other riders. well the "simonster" threw down today and had no mechanicals. he deserved the win. he was awarded the ice cup and a nice fat check. tristan rode an awesome race and came away with 2nd. brian matter from sheboygen wisconsin was 3rd. 2 former winners throwing down at the front. great race.

of course i can't get away without a word about todays UCI world cup race. looks like the french man gave the worlds 2 best crossers a run for their money. Francis Mourey takes the win in Treviso Italy. Nys 2nd and world champ Vervecken 3rd. just a note that my boy Sven Vanthourenhout finished 15th.

iceman out - cross racing in.

Nice "talking" with you. Jay! It looks like you were spanked in the Iceman SS class this year. Maybe you should stick to road and cross racing. Oh, yeah, Mike Shrift did well, too!

Shrift seperated his shoulder a week prior.
