Nys is God

Nys rules all in Belgium. these guys battle for 3 different series. GVA trofee (Gazet van Antwerpen-trofee), UCI world cup and the Superprestige series. today was the first race in the GVA series held in Oudenaarde Belgium. 15,000 spectators! the mud looked good and Nys came away with the win. amazing. Nys now leads all three series and will race again tomorrow in a small race. this weekend is a world cup race in Treviso Italy. more importantly on november 12 one of the most famous world cup races will take place, THE PIJNACKER!

i was very happy to see old man Groenendaal on the podium with Nys today. world champ Vervecken fell just outside of podium in 6th. my boy Sven Vanthourenhout just made 10th.

the rest of the field:

1. Sven Nys

2. Richard Groenendaal

3. John Gadret

4. Bart Aernouts

5. Bart Wellens

6. Erwin Vervecken

7. Klaas Vantornout

8. Niels Albert

9. Wilant Van Gils

10. Sven Vanthourenhout

Great blog site! Here's my firsthand take on the infamous koppenbergcros: The koppenbergcross course started off like a normal up-and-down rideable course UNTIL the hard rain started midway through the womens course. In about 30 seconds time the course turned into a sheet of grease! Almost every guy AND gal hit the ground at one point or another. But the layers of crowds were wonderful. I especially enjoyed their sound effects every time i'd descend the death drop. It was so bad that if you even breathed on your brake levers, you were toast.
If i have a second, i can give you yet another firsthand take of treviso, vossem and pijnaker.
Thanks again for giving us a fun blog to read!
