Well, Worlds is over, and we don’t have a ton of cyclocross left to look forward to, but there are three weeks worth of racing left, and while the battle for the overall title may not be as tight as it has been in past weeks, there are still little battles left to be waged up and down the fantasy cyclocross standings. Owners of Marianne Vos and Neils Albert will be especially pleased with their performance after this week.
The big winner on the week was Echelon (Jay Moncel, USA) with an enormous 552 points total, easly eclipsing the most points ever scored in a week. Despite that monstrous total, the top score was outpaced by the all-star score by almost 100 points! Echelon picked 8 out of the top 11 scorers on the weekend. The all-star team is as follows, with Echelon’s picks highlighted in bold: Sven Nys (66), Zdenek Stybar (75), Klaas Vantornout (10), Neils Albert (90), Philipp Walsleben (60), Francis Mourey (48), Hanka Kupfernagel (75), Christel Ferrier-Bruneau (12), Katie Compton (66), Marianne Vos (90) and Sanne Van Paassen (57). The all-star final score was 649 points. Second place on the weekend went to Team Diablos (Bryan Garfoot, USA), with 549 points, with the bronze medal going to Froglegs (Mark Lovejoy, USA)
Montanacyclocross.com (Shaun Radley, USA) continues to lead by a solid margin, with 4841 points total. Following a strong showing at worlds, Vorm een Team Helikopter (Mike Rolcik, USA) jumped into second place with 4794 points, with Bergen FK (Jake Sisson) falling to third with 4770 points.
Less than 50 points separate the top two positions in the rankings, and with only three weeks left to go, anything could happen and the race is still anyone’s to win. As always, check out the overall standings.

the best city in the US...

landed in marquette for some skiing but got washed out with rain so we hit the local pub.

made the best and took in some great views

got even luckier when we woke up. just enough stuck so we could hit the fresh groom and ski 10k on our departure day.

...and after all that we found ourselves at the best beach house in the US. as always the best spent days in never land with our bestest friends.

downers ave - probably the coolest race to check out. i can't believe i raced this race last year.

with superweek here, that brings friends to town. our best bros professor finklestien and dr. alan smith graced us for a weekend in the mad city. good to have michiganders racing and staying here for the races.

superweek makes people do weird shit. sir renkema needed to shake things up a bit and make a big change to swing the mood. grab the clippers - that should do it.

its summer time here in wisco. and that means the annual trek 100. lance was in attendance again and appeared to be having some bike trouble right at the start.

very large food stops. we of course stopped at every one.

just riding along with over 2000 riders on some awesome roads. always a great event to do for good base miles. unfortunately we could not make the boat ride this year as some bad weather came in and forced people to evacuate and take shelter. tornado time!

"When I attack I get myself into a position close to the front of the group and spend a few minutes geeing myself up and focusing on what I need to do. When you attack it needs to be fully committed, 100 per cent; there is no point in anything less. You must sprint more or less fl at out for around 200 metres in a bigger gear to open a gap, and then settle immediately into your maximum pace for a couple of minutes, at your normal cadence, which will hurt. Belgian national cyclocross champion Sven Nys signed a three-year deal with Landbouwkrediet-Töissteiner on Tuesday.
The contract takes effect January 1, 2009.
The 2005 world cyclocross champion, a 10-year veteran of the Rabobank squad, is vying to represent his country in the cross-country mountain bike race at the Olympics this summer in Beijing, China.
"You have to feel good in a team; all noses must be in the same direction," Nys told Sporza.be.
Nys will join cyclocrosser Rob Peeters and mountain biker Filip Meirhaeghe on Landbouwkrediet.
